Dear Friends in Christ,

As the evenings cool down a little earlier and the pleasant morning temperatures last a little longer, we can imagine ourselves getting busier this fall.

Once school is truly underway, we will start a conversation with the principal of Lincoln School about what more we might do.  In September, the Rev Nelson Serrano Poveda, the diocesan Latino Hispanic Missioner will be coming to talk to the Vestry and anyone else who would like to be included about how we can engage the Hispanic Community in collaborative ministry.  We are also looking forward to beginning our Joining Stockton/Sacred Ground adult formation opportunity.  Kim Odenweller and I are planning a Starry Night for some time in October with snacks and. telescopes.

La Iglesia Bautista and Zion are planning a couple of Sundays of preacher swaps and a combined/collaborative evening service in November.  Judy and I have begun planning Advent and St Lucia Day activities and Rhondda and I have been talking about Lessons and Carols.

At our inaugural combined parish administrators staff meeting, the three of us, Shay, Lisa, and I decided that I would have office hours at on Zion Mondays from nine to noon and office hours at St Anne’s from nine to noon on Tuesdays.  You will find me in my offices on those days.  On Wednesdays, I will be at Zion, but not necessarily in my office.  On Thursday, I will be at St. Anne’s, but not necessarily in my office.

The Memorial Service for Dr. Bryant Williams will be at Morris Chapel @ 10 am on Saturday, August 19.

On Sunday, August 20, during our regularly scheduled Sunday Morning worship service at St Anne’s, we will have the Memorial Service for Deon Seawell.

On Saturday, August 26 @ 11 am, we will have a funeral for Evie McCarty.

May their souls, and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.
